Find the step that makes an assumption
A recording may assume that a button is still at the same screen coordinate, or that a dialog has loaded after three seconds. Those assumptions can fail when a window moves or the application slows down.
You do not need to replace every recorded step. Keep the predictable parts and add a check where the workflow depends on the screen being ready.
Replace fragile steps with deliberate ones
TriggerFlow combines recording with actions that can inspect or wait for application state.
- Use Wait For Window before interacting with a newly opened dialog.
- Use Image Click or OCR Click for a recognisable target that can move.
- Focus the intended field immediately before typing.
- Branch on the confirmation or known error after submitting.
- Set loop limits and a stop condition before repeated playback.
Test the condition that used to break it
Move the window, delay the response and show a known error during testing. Check that the workflow waits or stops as intended instead of continuing blindly.
Image-based steps still depend on a recognisable appearance; OCR still depends on readable text. A redesigned screen can require a workflow update. The benefit is making assumptions visible and testable.
